(11) Back Together In Spain

"Ohana" means "family"
"family" means every one comes to visit
it was really nice to have my family with me again.

Ok about Spain,
Spain was a very powerful country in the past,
it's navy ruled the trading ruts in the past
and it was at that time the world power.
so what does that mean?
well lots of nice old stuff in the city lor.

First stop was Barcelona.
i know lots of fashion houses here, my sis and

mom went crazy. but you wont find any pictures

of mango and zara here ok.

(shopping is for shallow ppl)


instead you find old ships from the past.
(i know i'm so deep)

you'll find Christopher Columbus
the monument.

here he's pointing to the west.
he said that if one travels far out into the east,

one would fall off the edge of the earth and die!

i told my mom to get me a dog as a pet
but noo look wat she got me.

inside the tower there's a lift.
and you know what.. the lift leads to the

top of the tower, pretty amazing uh.

looking down from the top. i felt like

making someone’s day down there a

little more depressing.

Christopher Columbus died?
it's really tragic. his colon burst.

we saw this really cool guy painting

with ordinary spray cans.

Really talented.

man this is guy is a genius.
i mean really. he's architect that does every thing differently

inside the house

His designs are unique and practical.

Note that there are no 2 things in this picture that are repeated and that there is nothing that is simply straight

really futuristic design for his time.

and functional cause it allows sunlight to come in and the place is also well ventilated.

what makes me admire this guy so much is that he's the only genus crazy enough to start on a project that was going to take more then a lifetime to complete.

yah. Guldi came out with the plans to build a church so big, so high and so intricate that he knew that he would be long dead when it's done.

i've been to may castle and churches in Europe and there is none like this.

this is the original plan,
when he died, they had only built the 4 side towers.
recently they have started to continue the construction and have done up to the 8th tower and part of the cathedral.
(most old gothic churches only have 1 or 2 towers)

this is the front.
intotal there will be 13 towers.

knowing that it'll take more then his generation to build the church, he passed down the plans in .doc, .jpg and also plaster models

he developed a very simple way to check his building stress calculations. he did so by making scaled model that has been weighted and hung it upside down. by looking at the angels of the strings, he would know the resultant forces.
